It is finally starting to feel like spring!
The arrival of spring means it is time for spring-cleaning and we are here to remind you of ways you can donate those unused items building up and causing clutter in your home!
Cleaning out your home from your cabinets to your closets will leave you with a pile of items you no longer need or want. There are plenty of organizations, both local and nation wide that will take those items and give them to those less fortunate. Guardian Self Storage has previously partnered with Dutchess Outreach, the Red Cross, Dutchess County SPCA and Wappingers Crew Club to help those in need!
There are many ways you can donate to your community, including clothing, food and blood.
Did you know that last year the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to 68 local disasters, trained 7,358 people to save lives, prepared 1,326 individuals for disasters, collected 81,854 units of blood and connected 163 local military families during critical life moments. Dutchess Outreach is a local non-profit that helps meet the basic needs of individuals and families when no other resources are available to them. They bring happiness to those in need by helping feed and clothe those less fortunate. To see a list of items they accept via donation, click here.
The Wappingers Crew Club hosts many clothing drives throughout the year! They collect items such as clothing, household items, toys and accessories throughout the year at our Route 376 location.
The Dutchess County SPCA is another great local non-profit organization that can always use donations! Items such as blankets and towels are always needed! You can learn more about the Dutchess County SPCA and how to donate by visiting their website
